Call for the second edition of the Earth Observation Use Case Ideas Competition is now open
The call for the second edition of the Earth Observation Use Case Ideas Competition for the private sector is now open. The initiative, coordinated by the Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (IEEC), seeks innovative proposals for Earth observation use cases that the NewSpace sector can offer to Catalan private companies.
This call is part of the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia, promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya with the participation of the IEEC, the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC) and the Fundació i2CAT.
As a novelty, the winning use cases will become part of the project portfolio of ESA Phi-LabNET Spain, a programme that promotes research and market transfer of spatial solutions for climate resilience.
The competition will select and fund three use cases applicable in Catalonia. The selected projects will receive a prize of 2,500 euros and will be eligible for a contract of 47,500 euros.
