ESA and AEE launch Call for Climate Resilience Space Solutions in Eastern Spain
The European Space Agency (ESA) and the Spanish Space Agency (AEE) have announced the GSTP Element 1 Building Blocks (BB) Call: Climate Events Initiative (CEI). This extraordinary call for Spanish space technology in 2025 aims to develop innovative space-based capabilities to prevent, mitigate, and support recovery from climate events affecting Eastern Spain.
The initiative is an important step towards using space technology to enhance climate resilience by providing essential tools for monitoring, early warning, and response to extreme weather conditions. This aligns with the mission of Phi-Lab Spain to address climate challenges. As part of our commitment to promoting breakthrough solutions, Phi-Lab Spain actively supports the dissemination of this initiative to encourage research companies and institutions to participate and contribute their expertise to this crucial effort.
The maximum contribution of the Agency per activity shall not exceed 1,000,000 euros, and the maximum duration for an activity shall be 24 months.
Proposals will be evaluated in chronological order of registration on the OSIP platform, and the call will remain open until funds are exhausted or until December 31, 2025, whichever comes first.
Entities are invited to submit outline proposals in the GSTP Element 1 Building Blocks Framework channel in OSIP. Link here.
