This website is provided to facilitate your access to information about the goals and activities of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC) in the framework of Phi-Lab NET Spain. 

The IEEC is a research centre specialising in the fields of space sciences and technologies, including astrophysics, cosmology, planetary science, earth observation and space engineering.  

The IEEC is affiliated to the Administration of the Generalitat of Catalonia and is related through the Department of Research and Universities. Its mission is to foster and advance research, with an aggregate vision of the space sector in Catalonia and for the benefit of society. 

The specific objectives of the IEEC are to conduct its activities as an international centre of reference to attract talent and foster local and international alliances, to be a qualified agent for the transfer of knowledge, technology and innovation, and to contribute to the dissemination of scientific culture to society. 

The European Space Agency (hereafter ESA or Agency) has created the ESA ΦLabNet initiative to support innovative space-related research activities. 

Under the Agency’s tender AO/1-12128/24/UK/AL/ra for Phi-Lab NET Spain, the Institute for Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC) submitted in consortium with 11 other entities a proposal to host a Phi-Lab NET Spain in Barcelona (Spain) geared towards climate change and nature-based solutions. 

The proposal submitted by IEEC was selected by the Agency.  

The purpose of this website is to provide information to interested parties on the calls for submission of Phi-Lab NET Spain projects (deadlines, conditions and rules of the calls and draft documentation to be submitted). In addition, through the website the IEEC allows interested parties to submit proposals using the form on the website ‘Submit your application here’ and send it to the IEEC as the responsible of PHILAB- NET Spain.

3. Access to the website and information about IEEC 

Access to the website is completely free of charge and does not require user registration.  

The primary purpose of this website is to manage Phi-Lab NET Spain and the collection of proposals under the calls for proposals.

You can recognise that the connection is encrypted by the fact that the address bar of your browser changes from ‘http://’ to ‘https://’ and by the padlock symbol in your browser address bar. If SSL or TLS encryption is enabled, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties. 

IEEC cannot guarantee that there will be no interruptions or errors in accessing the website or its content, nor that it will be permanently updated, free of inaccuracies or mistakes. In any case, we undertake to resolve any errors, interruptions in communication and lack of updating of this content as soon as possible. 

4. Rules of use 

The user of the website undertakes to use it pursuant to the law, good customs and these terms of use. The user also guarantees to make appropriate use of the content of the website and not to use it for illicit or criminal activities that violate the rights of third parties and/or breach the regulations on intellectual and industrial property, or any other applicable legal regulations. 

The information provided on the website will only be used for activities related to Phi-Lab NET Spain. The user undertakes to use the information contained in this website exclusively for his/her own needs and not to directly or indirectly conduct any type of commercial exploitation of the contents to which he/she has access. 

As a user of the website, the user acknowledges and accepts that he/she is solely responsible for the use he/she makes of it, and for the contents accessible through the website. 

Therefore, among other activities, the user undertakes: 

a) Not to enter or disseminate content of a racist, xenophobic, pornographic, terrorist apology nature or that violates human rights. 

b) Not to enter or disseminate on the network data programmes (viruses and harmful software) likely to cause damage to the computer systems of the access provider, its suppliers or third party users of the Internet network. 

c) Not to disclose, transmit or make available to third parties any type of information, element or content that violates the fundamental rights and public freedoms recognised constitutionally and in international treaties. 

d) Not to disclose, transmit or make available to third parties any type of information, element or content that constitutes unlawful or unfair advertising. 

e) Not to enter or disclose any false, ambiguous or inaccurate information and content in a manner that is misleading. 

The user will be solely liable for any damages or losses that may occur as a result of a breach on his/her part. 

5. Links 

If you intend to link to the website from any website, forum, chat, platform or social network, you are required to state that you do not have the supervision or authorisation of the IEEC. Under no circumstances is it permitted to link to the website from websites, platforms, forums, chats, blogs or social networks that are contrary to law or morality, in particular from those with pornographic content or content that violates human rights. 

It is important to clarify that no link implies an association between IEEC and the site from which you link to our website. As such, we are not responsible for the data or content they provide. 

This website includes links to third-party websites, and IEEC is not responsible for any variations in the information and content provided by these websites. 

6. IEEC has a presence on various social media platforms and networks 

As part of Phi-Lab Net Spain, IEEC utilises social networks and platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube, as indicated on our website. Please note that when accessing any of these networks or platforms, the applicable conditions of use are those established by each platform, over which we have no control. 

7. Intellectual and Industrial Property 

The website and all its contents (including, but not limited to, trademarks, logos, text, photographs, icons, images, graphics, graphics, technology, links, audiovisual or sound content, etc., as well as graphic design, source code and other software elements contained in this website), are owned by the IEEC, and are subject to intellectual and industrial property rights, protected by Spanish law. Accordingly, if you intend to exploit the website or its contents (reproduce, transform, communicate, etc., beyond the activities authorised by the Intellectual Property Law), you must obtain our prior written consent (contact details at the head of this Legal Notice), regardless of the purposes for which they are used. Similarly, it is forbidden to remove the identification data of the IEEC, as the holder of the Intellectual and Industrial Property rights of the website or its contents. 

The responsibility arising from the unauthorised use of materials protected by intellectual and industrial property rights contained on this website corresponds exclusively to the user. 

The fact that the IEEC does not ask you to stop making an illegal use or contrary to these terms of the Contents may not be understood in any case as a consent or authorisation for this use. Nor does it constitute a waiver of the exercise of the legal actions that may correspond to us. 

8. Responsibilities for the operation of the website 

It is imperative to remember that it is your responsibility to have the necessary tools for detecting and disinfecting malicious software. While the IEEC makes every effort to keep the website free of viruses or any other harmful elements, we cannot guarantee their complete absence.

In order to adapt the legal text to the reality of the website, we reserve the right to amend or update it at any time, so we recommend that you check it frequently.

Furthermore, the parties agree that any litigation, discrepancy, question, or claim arising from the execution and interpretation of these terms of use, or related texts on this website, will be resolved in the Courts of Barcelona, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction that may be competent (unless there is a conflict protected by law, in which case the position designated in the applicable legislation will take precedence).
